SCORE Foundation Celebrates Women’s History Month

WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 28, 2023 – The SCORE Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, announced that several sponsors are actively supporting programs that directly assist women business owners to launch and grow their companies. Underwriting support from the Edie Fraser Women’s Entrepreneur Fund, the Glenn W. Bailey Foundation and the Principal Financial Group enables SCORE to increase resources to female founders on both a national and local level throughout the year.

The Lester, Muriel and Edie Fraser Women’s Entrepreneur Fund supports the creation and execution of a series of women’s business roundtable events and pitch competitions around the country, now in its second year. Such events raise local visibility for women-owned businesses and offer opportunities for female founders to network and engage with SCORE mentors.

The Glenn W. Bailey Foundation which focuses on programs that support career paths in STEM and entrepreneurship, funds creation of educational business content to help women founders manage their company. “Best Small Business Financing Options for Women in 2023” and “33 Networking Groups for Women Business Owners” were two articles released during Women’s History Month. These represent part of a larger series offering women founders tips and strategies on a variety of business topics.

Principal Financial Group, a global company with products to improve the financial health and wealth of individuals and businesses, launched their sponsorship of the SCORE for Women Entrepreneurs resource hub on score.org during Women’s History Month. This hub assembles a curated collection of business resources, success stories, templates and other information in one convenient place to assist women business owners during various company lifecycle stages.

“We are so proud to support SCORE with this multi-year gift to propel and scale the growth of more woman-owned businesses in our country,” said Edie Fraser. “These local women’s business events not only help the women involved but also inspire those contemplating starting their own company.”

“Sponsor financial support enables SCORE to reach more women business owners and aspiring female entrepreneurs with free mentoring and educational programs that can help them evolve from an idea to a thriving, growing company,” said Liz Sara, president of the SCORE Foundation. “As we wind down Women’s History Month, we congratulate all women business owners for their entrepreneurial role in fostering job creation and economic growth in their communities.”
