SCORE Foundation Board of Directors Elects SVP at Fedex as New Chairman

New Officers and Directors Approved at Recent Meeting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 30, 2023 – The SCORE Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, today announced that new board members and a slate of officers were elected during the recent board of directors meeting held on June 23rd.  Scott Harkins, senior vice president of customer experience marketing at Fedex, takes the helm as Chairman of the Board.

Newly-elected board members and officers include Julie Christiansen as Vice Chair and Judy Trevino as Treasurer.  Joseph Newcombe was reelected as Secretary. All four comprise the Executive Committee.

 Mr. Harkins has both a professional and personal interest in driving small business success. He has held executive board leadership roles with both the Foundation and with SCORE for the past four years.  He just completed his term as Foundation Vice Chair.  Previously, he served as the Board Chair for SCORE.

 Ms. Christiansen has extensive business experience in the contract manufacturing industry.  Her passion for entrepreneurs involves mentoring them in their journey to bring their brand vision to life.  She further supports small businesses through participation in her local Main Street Association and her role on a variety of boards focused on business ownership, including the Independent Beauty Association.

Ms. Trevino has extensive management and board experience in nonprofit, governmental and foundation institutions. She currently oversees multiple nonprofit organizations. Her passion for service has allowed her the opportunity to lead strategic and board succession planning, board governance training, recruitment and financial oversight.
